How to Make Grilled Cheese in an Air Fryer
Cris here.
I am absolutely in love with making grilled cheese in an air fryer. (We use Ninja Foodi Air Fryers like the Foodi Grill and the Original Foodi.) It creates the perfectly toasted sandwich with all that ooey gooey cheese in the middle.
And, you can’t forget to make one of our yummy tomato soups to go along with your perfect grilled cheese.

Using Butter or Mayo to Make Grilled Cheese
You can use softened butter to coat your bread in this recipe or an easier option of lightly coating the outside bread with mayo. When I share this with folks I usually get one of two reactions. They have either grown up with the idea of using mayo on the outside of their grilled cheese or they are completely against even trying it.
Truth be told, in this recipe, made in the air fryer, I really can’t taste a difference. I do find the mayo as an easier way to “butter” my bread, but you do you.
Low Carb Options for Grilled Cheese
I prefer to use Kraft Deli Cheese Slices in my grilled cheese because they have a lower carb count.
I also enjoy using low carb breads such as Sola brand or Sara Lee Delightful Bread to bring down the carb counts while enjoying a grilled cheese from time to time.
You can’t forget to make a big bowl of our Low Carb Crock Pot Creamy Tomato Soup. Yum!

Made two grilled cheese in my ninja foodi this morning. They turned out great very crispy, and not flat. I used softened butter, would have tried mayonnaise if it weren’t expired 🙁. Only downside of my air fryer is gat it will only cook one at a time. But so worth it.Reply
