Vegan cookies
The world of vegan cookies is a beautiful and varied one. From fudgy chocolate brownie cookies to plant-based cookies that taste like apple pie, we’re lucky to have so many great recipes. But are they good for you?
Are vegan cookies healthy?
In terms of tasting delicious and the mood-boosting benefits that come with eating warm, yummy treats, you could say yes, they’re good for us in moderation.
But whilst we’d love to answer this with a resounding yes, the answer is more of a maybe. Depending on the recipe, and more specifically how much refined sugars they contain vegan cookies probably aren’t the healthiest option when it comes to a sweet treat.
Opting for a recipe that uses natural fruit-sugars to sweeten them could be the healthiest option. The addition of nutritious ingredients like oats could also help turn your sweet treat into something closer to healthy.
Ultimately, like a lot of things, vegan cookies are great in moderation and as part of a balanced diet: that’s what makes it a special treat, after all!
