In the last 65 years Ruby Bridges life has influenced many people to stand up for their basic Civil Right to equality, starting with the right to an equal education. At the time Ruby Bridges had no idea what a strong leader she was being for others. Her success was because of how young she was and how well she handed stress at such a young age. African Americans are still fighting for equality today. Even recently they are still fighting for their rights to fair treatment by police in Ferguson, Missouri. The rights of the African American race will forever be changed because of what Ruby Bridges sacrificed for herself and her family.
