After taking the world by storm with her performance in last year's body horror hit The Substance, Demi Moore racked up countless award nominations and a few statues—and, of course, her quote-unquote "comeback" has not gone unnoticed. This week, she named not only the World's Most Beautiful by People, but also one of the World's Most Influential People by TIME. It has certainly been a big week for Moore—and her appearance at the 2025 TIME100 Gala at New York City's Lincoln Center last night, April 24, lived up to both of her new titles.
The actress wore a dreamy ivory gown for the occasion. The custom Zac Posen and Kim Jones design, which was made in the Gap Studio and styled by Brad Goreski, featured a draped, pleated design. The twisted halter made way for a floaty bodice, before a twisted sash at the hips cinched in her waistline. The long, ethereal skirt featured a thigh-high slit and fell around elegantly around her ankles. Throughout the evening, Moore draped a matching ivory satin blazer around her shoulders for an extra effortlessly chic touch.
As for her jewelry, Moore kept things classic, opting for a pair of a drop diamond earrings, which featured two separate strands of six diamonds (that's a total of 24), along with a between-the-finger-ring, which featured three marquise diamonds. Finally, she sported a chunky diamond bangle on her left arm.
She finished things off with a glowy, simple makeup look and she wore her signature XXL hair straight, falling down behind her shoulders.
During the gala, Moore took to the stage to say a few words about the "extremely humbling" honor. "I have to say, all of this, and being here, has had me thinking a lot about time," she said. "We chase it, we schedule it, we say we don't have enough—or that we're running out of it. And sometimes, if we're honest, we waste it, thinking about, or stressing over, things that haven't happened, or reliving things we've already survived."
She went on to explain that "until now," she had spent a lot of her own time failing to appreciate to what she had. "But when I had the courage to pause," she went on, "to get still, to stop running, I found grace, compassion, and most importantly, acceptance, because when we embrace who we are, where we are, exactly as we are, we stop missing the moment we're in. The truth is, you can't run out of time when you're living in the present."
Moore previously spoke to TIME in the run-up to the gala about her big year, explaining that she hadn't been disappointed by her Oscar loss to Mikey Madison.Moore told, “I leaned over and whispered to my manager, ‘I think it’s going to Mikey.’ I don’t know why I knew, but I did.” When Madison's name was called, Moore “was so centered and calm,” she recalled. “I didn’t feel gutted.”
