The GIS/Special Projects Department utilizes a geographic information system (GIS) to create and maintain geospatial information. The layers and the information contained in the layers, provide a visual representation of Edgefield County. This information is used by the County and decision-makers to enhance the level of service to its citizens.
The Department is also responsible for special projects for the County, including grant applications that support and promote programs that benefit the County and the welfare of the citizens. The Department is committed to opportunities that enrich our communities, improve standards, promote citizen safety, and stimulate community and economic growth.
