Position SummaryThe Tax Analyst, Indirect Tax will work within the Reyes Family of Businesses. This role will focus on the company’s Indirect Tax team and will include audit defense, tax computation, and return preparation, filing and payment. This role will report to the Manager, Indirect Tax and prepare sales & use, property tax, and various other indirect tax returns. There will be significant interface with other areas of the tax department, finance, and business partners throughout the organization. Additionally, this role will provide advice, assistance, and support as needed across the Reyes Family of Businesses.

Position Responsibilities May Include, But Not Limited To

• Gather audit documentation, prepare audit workpapers, and identify and research audit issues
• Work with Tax Manager on audit strategy. Document, research and support company’s tax positions
• Assist with tax savings and other tax recovery projects related to sales & use tax and personal property tax
• Prepare and maintain indirect tax audit and compliance process documentation
• Utilize indirect tax software to prepare and file indirect tax returns
• Prepare supporting workpapers and reconciliations for indirect tax filings
• Maintain indirect tax calendar, coordinate payment indirect taxes, and assist with indirect tax budgeting
• Analyze and resolve notices and correspondence from various state and local governments
• Research various tax positions, prepare indirect tax matrices, and respond to tax questions from the various businesses
• Assist in the resolution of IT help-desk tickets and customer service questions related to indirect tax
• Assist in the maintenance and reconciliation of indirect tax GL accounts
• Other projects or duties as assigned

Required Skills And Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Related field with 0 – 1+ years’ experience in Finance or Tax
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong commitment to excellent customer service
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and database applications
• This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test
• Ability and willingness to learn new software applications and new tax types

Preferred Skills And Experience

• CPA
• Master’s or graduate degree
• Experience with Vertex O-Series, Vertex Returns, Avalara CertCapture, and PTMS
• Experience in a large corporate tax environment
• Experience with indirect tax
