The Huntsville Police Department in Alabama has a S550 Mustang GT with a supercharger. Wonder if and when they'll get a supercharged S650

Did you read the article?
"The Highway Patrol told WWAY that the cost of the police Mustangs is comparable to other vehicles currently in its fleet."

I was more thinking the Mustangs should be more fun to drive than the boring Explorer SUVs they usually get to drive...Hence our tax-$$$ at play...More taxes and more tickets to pay for it !

Don't need more taxes if they cost the same. But, OK ...

In our state, performance vehicles like the mustang were either purchased from money confiscated in drug busts or other high dollar crimes or were from confiscation of the vehicles used in a crime. We had a Fox Body 5.0 State Trooper in my county for a few years, patrolled the major highway, had a tendency of sitting next to the lane barrier walls, kinda hidden till you came up on him. And who would ever think a "mustang" would be a cop.

South Carolina has Mustangs as well. I’m waiting to roll up to one and see how they like it. My Dad is a retired SC Highway Patrol and had 2x Fox Mustangs and 1 Camaro as his patrol car. I thought they were the coolest things when I was a kid. Still do, lol.

True, but what happens when your nearest backup is 20 miles away?
