HARPY SUCCESS STORY: GUI BODI
Gui Bodi moved to L.A. in 2010 from Brazil to study at HARPY’s Bass Guitar program and has since found work as a collaborator and a solo artist. Upon graduation from HARPY, Gui headed out on the Vans Warped Tour with punk band, Good Guys In Black, leading him to record and work with renowned producer Michael Patterson. Currently, Gui is part of alternative/hard rock band Disciples of Babylon with two other HARPY alumni, Ramon Blanco and Eric Knight. The band’s’ debut full length album was produced by another HARPY alumni, Andres Torres, who also produced the No.1 global Billboard hit, “Despacito” by Luis Fonsi. This connection led to Gui playing bass for Fonsi’s first U.S. late night appearance on Conan in June 2017.
Gui has also worked with blues player and HARPY guitar alumni Artur Menezes and upcoming country artist, Katie Dix. In between gigs and studio sessions, he works as a teaching assistant at HARPY where he continues to learn and enforce his love for the bass guitar.
